Healing from Birth Trauma: An EMDR Informed Group for Birthing Individuals
Join Lisa + Caitlin, mothers and EMDR therapists, who know a thing or two about birth trauma.
This group is designed for individuals who have experienced distress surrounding birth, including experiences of perinatal mood and anxiety challenges and depression.
This will be a small group with 6 participants, taking place over 12 weeks. Each session will be 90 minutes in length.
What to expect:
Psycho-education as it relates to trauma + your nervous system
Psycho-education on EMDR therapy
Integrating trauma informed strategies to improve mood and wellness
Support Provided:
Learning EMDR strategies to soothe and support your nervous system
Develop coping strategies to support mood and distressing images or memories
Reduction in the intensity of distress surrounding your birth experience
Identifying positive beliefs about oneself in relation to the distressing event
Opportunity to build internal resources to use during the processing phase of Individual EMDR therapy.
Collective Care:
Gather resources and techniques from fellow group members
Build connection and community with other mothers
Experience a safe and non-judgmental space of mental health care
