Reconstructing Motherhood
Examining the changing maternal brain and supporting the postpartum nervous system!
This 90 minute workshop is for compassionate + curious folks who want to learn more about what’s really going on in the maternal brain, and how the changes can be further impacted by cultural narratives of what it means to be a modern day mother.
Get ready for a little science lesson because we’ll be talking about the evolution of the maternal brain, the anatomical shifts, and the developmental gains that are made post-partum.
We’ll be guiding participants through nervous system practices so that you’ll walk away with the skills needed to thrive in this stage of life!
Here’s what you can expect:
An exploration of sociological and cultural understandings of motherhood, and how these narratives impact postpartum mood, and more!
A lesson on the maternal brain + language to describe common experiences (think ‘mom brain’ or ‘brain fog’)
Development of skills to soothe the nervous system
How to best support yourself or the mothers around you, postpartum
How mothers can actually get rest!
